Santa's Visit to PetSmart Benefited the Cats of PALS
Even Santa’s schedule is getting busier. Rather than spending three weekends at PetSmart posing for photos during the popular Santa Claws event, this year Santa zeroed in on the two days when he thought the most pets from his “NICE” list would be available. Over 50 pets (cats, dogs, even a rabbit) got to meet the jolly man on December 7 & 14 and all behaved wonderfully, even though they know Santa tends to favor reindeer!
100% of the proceeds from this PetSmart-sponsored event went entirely to PALS. The volunteers of PALS thanks everyone who contributed to the success of Santa Claws 2013!
Pet owners were able to snap their own shots of Santa this year, but his elves managed to take a few of their own (including our very own Darcy, currently available for adoption, who Santa said was at the TOP of his "Nice" list!)
2012 Holiday Fundraiser Popular with Dogs, Cats and even an Iguana
PALS volunteers and friends, including members of the St. John's Prep Animal Welfare Group, greeted over one hundred pets during PetSmart's Santa Claws photo event in December of 2012. We acted as photographers, Santas, Santa's helpers, printers and greeters and, in return, met lots of great animals and earned 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the holiday photos. While most of the photographers were amatuer enthusiasts, we were thrilled to have Paul Michaels of Man Mountain Productions shoot for us one day. Here are a few of his pix.
Paul is also responsible for the beautiful portraits of our cats seen on this site and on the cage cards in our Adoption Center.
We were also happy to meet BooBoo, an iguana who arrived in a pink down vest and changed into a red skirt before striking this pose. Santa, played by Evan from St. John's Prep, had no idea what he was getting himself into!
