History

PALS Animal Life Savers was organized in 1995 as Friends of Peabody Animal Rescue and Shelter (dba Peabody Animal Life Savers) by the Peabody, MA Animal Control Officer and a local firefighter. PALS originally operated out of the Borash Animal Clinic in Peabody and assisted both cats and dogs.

In 2003 PALS was accepted as an adoption partner at PetSmart’s new store in Salem, MA. For the next year, we continued to operate out of both locations until the Borash Clinic needed the space that PALS occupied, so we transitioned to focusing solely on cats out of PetSmart.

With our Adoption Center located in Salem, we recently modified the name of our organization to PALS Animal Life Savers but still work closely with animal lovers in Peabody and other communities around the North Shore.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, PALS continues to rely on the financial support and generosity of individuals, foundations and corporations to help deserving cats and kittens find suitable, loving homes.

Adopt a locally rescued cat or kitten through PALS, a no-kill, all-volunteer, nonprofit feline rescue group based in Salem.

Hours for adoptions: Saturday & Sunday 11-4  |  Friday by appointment

You may view the available cats and kittens in their cages during regular PetSmart store hours.
